Getting Started

Hiasynth gives your AI assistant the ability to answer demographic, economic and psychographic questions about 522 million Europeans, resolved to municipality and square kilometre, with grounded numbers instead of guesses.

What you are connecting

A 1:1 synthetic population model of Europe. Every person in it sits in a household, in a square kilometre, in a region, in a country, carrying a full profile: age and income, work and education, what they value, what they spend, how they get around.

None of them is real. That is the design. You get the analytical reach of individual-level data with no personal data anywhere in the system.

Before you start

You need two things: a Hiasynth account and an MCP subscription on it.

  • The account is free and takes one click with Google, GitHub or Discord.
  • The subscription is what lets you run queries. Connecting, browsing the tool list and reading the full attribute catalogue is free. Running an actual query is not, and there is no trial. For a small company one query can be the whole answer, so a trial would be the product given away.

Launch price: €4 per month until 20 September 2026, then €16 per month. Both include 300 credits a month. A question costs one to three credits depending on how much of the population it has to scan, so that is roughly a hundred full market analyses or several hundred simpler lookups. Extra credit packs are available from your MCP page if you need more before the month is up; they are spent after your monthly credits and never expire. Prices exclude VAT, which is added at checkout unless you enter a business VAT number. Cancel any time from the billing portal. Your access runs to the end of the period you have paid for, with no refund for the remaining days. After that, queries pause, and whatever credits you had are kept and become spendable again when you resubscribe.

There are two ways in. Pick whichever suits you. Both end in the same place.

Route A: start in Claude

Best if you already use Claude and want the fewest steps.

1. In Claude (web or desktop), open Customize → Connectors, click +, then Add custom connector.

2. Name it Hiasynth and paste this URL:

Leave the OAuth client fields empty. Click Add.

3. Click Connect. Claude opens a Hiasynth page in your browser.

4. Sign in with Google, GitHub or Discord. If you are new, this creates your account.

5. Read the consent card. It tells you which app is asking and where you will be sent back. Click Approve. You land back in Claude, connected.

6. Now subscribe: go to hiasynth.co/app/mcp and click Subscribe to run queries. Stripe handles the payment; you are sent back when it is done.

7. Back in Claude, ask your first question.

If you ask a question before subscribing, the tool answers with a short message and a link to the subscription page. Nothing is broken; the connection is fine, it just is not paid for yet.

Custom connectors are available on all Claude plans, including Free, which allows one connector.

Route B: start on hiasynth.co

Best if you want the account and payment sorted before you touch any AI client, or if you use a client other than Claude.

1. Sign in at hiasynth.co with Google, GitHub or Discord.

2. Go to hiasynth.co/app/mcp and click Subscribe to run queries. Complete the Stripe checkout.

3. On the same page, copy the server URL:

4. Add it to your AI client as a custom connector or remote MCP server. In Claude that is Customize → Connectors → + → Add custom connector.

5. Click Connect in the client, approve the consent card in your browser, and you are done.

Headless clients and API keys

Claude Code, LibreChat, scripts and cron jobs cannot always run a browser sign-in. For those, create an API key on hiasynth.co/app/mcp and send it as a bearer token. The key is shown once; copy it when it appears.

Claude Code can use either route. With OAuth:

Keys and connected clients can both be revoked from your MCP page at any time.

Already on the beta setup?

Early testers connected through a block in Claude Desktop's config file with a personal key. Replace it with the connector: it is one click to connect, needs no Node, and can be disconnected from your MCP page.

1. Fully quit Claude Desktop.

2. Open the config file and delete the hiasynth entry inside mcpServers (leave any other servers in place). If Hiasynth was the only entry, the file can just contain "mcpServers": { }.

  • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json

3. Reopen Claude Desktop and follow Route A above to add the connector.

4. On hiasynth.co/app/mcp, revoke the old key under API keys. Your complimentary credits stay on the account; the connector uses the same ones.

Your first question

Ask in plain language. Your assistant picks the tools.

Households in Bavaria with children under ten and an electric car. How many, where are they densest, and how does that compare to Baden-Württemberg?
We do well with urban renters in their thirties in the Netherlands. Which other European regions look most like that?
Who actually lives within three kilometres of Södermalm, and what does the area look like by day?

Name a country, region or city and answers come back in a couple of seconds. A whole-continent question with no place in it is slower; narrow it and it is fast.

A simple question is usually one call. A comparison across several places, or a question the assistant decides to break into parts, may be two or three. Your remaining balance is always visible on your MCP page, and you get an email when it runs low.

Where it earns its place

On the questions general knowledge cannot reach: four attributes crossed at once, resolved to a neighbourhood, compared across six countries, with the numbers anchored to what the statistical offices actually published.

There is nobody in here to target. Hiasynth tells you what a population looks like, so you can work out where to go and what to say when you arrive. All answers are aggregates: counts, shares, profiles and composite personas. No individual records, ever.

Something not working?

  • "Your Hiasynth account is connected, but population queries need an active subscription": the connection is fine. Subscribe at hiasynth.co/app/mcp.
  • The consent page says the request expired: authorization links live for fifteen minutes. Start the connection again from your AI client.
  • You signed up by email instead of Google/GitHub/Discord: open the verification link we sent, then start the connection again from your client.
  • Anything else: tell us what you asked and what came back. A screenshot is perfect.
