Query humanity.

Companies ask their AI about people every day. Which neighbourhoods to target. What the family on the third floor actually spends on groceries. Whether any of it holds in the next country over. Until now the answer came from a gut feeling. Now it comes from an AI's gut feeling, which is not the upgrade anyone was promised.

Until now, answering that took a research budget, a few months, and a vendor with a very nice office. We thought an AI should just be able to ask. So we built a 1:1 synthetic population of Europe, 500 million personas living in real households in real neighbourhoods, and put it behind an API. Any AI can query it. That's the whole idea.

One market, finally.

Europe likes to call itself one market. In practice it is dozens of markets that happen to share a currency, mostly. Ask Hiasynth about a street in Lisbon and a street in Luleå and you get answers built the same way, from the same model. That is what makes Europe one market: not a treaty, a query.

Not the flower.

Hiasynth is named after Hyacinth Bucket from Keeping Up Appearances, one of the strongest characters ever to grace a television.

Nobody would mistake Hyacinth for a demographic. She is a semi-detached house, a Royal Doulton tea service, a husband with a pension, and a sister she'd rather not mention. Every detail hangs together. That's the standard we hold our personas to. Not averages with a name on top, but 500 million distinct lives, each with a household, a neighbourhood, a budget and habits that make sense together. Realistic, not real.

Onslow, Emmet and Elizabeth are all in the stack, by the way. Onslow does the heavy lifting, which would surprise anyone who has met him.

It's pronounced Bouquet.

/hi synth. As in: hi, synthetic persona. That's what we meant.

The slash is a leftover from the days when the whole product was a Discord slash command. We kept it. Hyacinth never let go of anything that sounded a bit grander than it was either.

Who's behind it.

Hiasynth is a small company in Stockholm, founded by Emma Agering and backed by Further Than Capital. The model could be built because we got granted heeps of time on a supercomputer thanks to Sweden AI Factory. Without it, the model would've been a lot less impressive.

We are early. What you get today is raw access to the model itself, a little rough around the edges. We think that's the interesting part.
