Europe. The first culture, wealth and emissions layers, and the UK as four nations.
From one country to a continent.
Kullen took the Landsort approach across Europe: 38 countries, 299 regions, about 500 million people in 220 million households. The person record grew to 137 attributes and households gained a 76-attribute record of their own.
New in Kullen:
- Cultural identity: origin, migration background, religion, language and the calendar a household actually lives by.
- Occupation and industry for every working person.
- Income after tax, with each country's own tax rules applied.
- Household wealth and debt: property, financial assets and mortgages.
- A per-household spend ledger and carbon footprint, the first version of the consumption and emissions layer.
- Micro-zones for the whole continent. Where a country publishes no fine-grained grid of its own, we build one, so coverage is uniform from Lisbon to Tromsø.
- Zones that respect water. A lake, a river or a strait separates two neighbourhoods in the model the way it does on the ground, so a catchment never reaches across a bay.
- The UK modelled as four nations: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Kullen sits on the cliffs of Kullaberg in Skåne, where a light has guided ships through the Öresund approaches since the 1500s. Its beam is the strongest in Scandinavia and can be seen from Denmark.
